We want each girl to leave the summer having discovered something in herself she did not know was there — a talent, a friendship, a moment of courage, a deeper connection to her Yiddishkeit. Children bloom at different rates and in different ways, and our job is to create the conditions in which every single one finds her light. The quiet camper and the spirited one, the natural leader and the one still finding her footing — each leaves having been truly seen.

Every staff member succeeds. A camp is only as strong as the people who run it, and we are committed to setting our staff up to thrive. That means real training, genuine support, clear expectations, and the trust to grow into their roles. When a counselor succeeds, her campers feel it. We invest in our staff not only because the camp needs it, but because these young women are themselves at a formative stage — and the summer should leave them more capable and more inspired than they arrived.

Dirah B'tachtonim is the spirit that ties the whole vision together. The Rebbe taught that the ultimate purpose of all our avodah is to make this lowest world a home for the Aibershter — to reveal, through ordinary actions in an ordinary place, that there is nothing more G-dly than a Yid living a Torah life with joy. That is what a summer at CGI Chai is, at its core: hundreds of campers and staff, on a hilltop in the Poconos, turning an ordinary stretch of weeks into a dwelling place for Hashem.
